Rare working Pipetop Reed Organ in Nanaimo, British Columbia for sale

Rare working Pipetop Reed Organ
Rare working Pipetop Reed Organ
$175

Extremely rare: a working Bell Parlour reed organ with a pipetop mantel. This organ was originally constructed in Guelph, Ontario in 1887-1888. It was originally shipped to a music store owner Edward Senior in Ayr, Scotland. Exquisite workmanship: beautiful walnut with intricate detailing including the original bevelled mirror. Can be played - antique instruction books included. Registered with the Reed Organ Society.
Dimensions: 44 inches wide by 24 inches deep by 70 inches tall. (Note: width does not include removeable Victorian brass candleholders...which add roughly 5 inches to each side, depending on how they are positioned.)
Reed organs are lighter and easier to move than pianos and do not require tuning to work after a move. This is a beautiful, still working piece of Victorian technology.
Located in Nanaimo.
