Formerly Women’s Choice ™ sewing business: patterns for non-disposable menstrual pads, and pantie-liners – an economical, ecological answer to monthly menstrual needs. For over 10 years (1989 – 2000) these pads were manufactured on Vancouver Island (Greater Nanaimo area) Fabric used and suggested for use is unbleached cotton fleece with waterproof nylon for backing. For the pad purse carrier and larger pad holder, a pretty cotton fabric could be used.
Patterns consist of:
• Daytime base pad with waterproof nylon backing and pocket for filler pad,
• Day-time filler pad,
• Night-time base pad with waterproof nylon backing and pocket for filler pad,
• Night-time filler pad,
• Light-flow pad, with waterproof nylon backing,
• pantie-liner, with waterproof nylon backing,
• Daytime pad carrier with waterproof section
• and large pad carrier.
Pads are sewn with strips of Velcro backing positioned so that the pad fits securely into cotton underwear that has the corresponding Velcro pieces to hold the pad nicely in place.

Pads can be sewn with a serger or a regular sewing machine using a zig-zag stich or even by hand, if need be.
