Thunderbird Junior in Nanaimo, British Columbia

Thunderbird Juniors were built from 1955 to 1966, closely resembling the full-size Ford Thunderbirds of those years. Built in Mystic, Connecticut by the Powercar Company, they were designed for children but were also used by Ford dealers as promotional items and prizes to sell the full-size cars. They were expensive to buy when new.
Thunderbird Juniors were powered by a starter motor with a 6-volt battery. Some were also available with a 2-stroke gasoline engine.
I purchased this 1963 Thunderbird Junior in December 2000. Powered by a starter motor with a 6-volt battery, it operates forward and reverse, has a working horn and working headlights.
