Great learning tool. The Letter People were created in the 1970's by Elayne Reiss-Weimann and Rita Friedman to teach how to decode. The concept was simple, yet brilliant. A character was created for each letter of the English alphabet and each one had a specific trait that started with the letter it represented The consonants were Letter Boys and the vowels were Letter Girls. Miss A - Mister F - Funny Feet Mister H - Horrible Hair etc. Record set of each letter. Letter " Person" has his/her own personal song, and the styles cover just about the whole musical gamut from country to rock to "fight song" to calypso to even Scottish fare. The songwriters did a great job with variety---and they're fun songs. Letter man's eyes light up for correct choices. Lots of variety.
